What we students are saying about the 2009 bac exam is that it is difficult, especially regarding major subject areas. For example, there was management and accounting. Accounting and mathematics were very difficult. Accounting was seven pages long. This is too much. And, no one had ever seen the mathematic functions there. This is to say: no one had ever worked with those formulae. We lost nine points there. With regards to economics, it was the same as mathematics, except that it had, in addition, general economics and statistics, which were way, way, way too hard. The students had never worked with statists, because first there is a problem of finding time and second they are difficult. The two branches of biological and physical sciences have, first of all, one point in common: mathematics. The two branches alone let you know that they will be difficult in terms of mathematics. In addition to that, many bac candidates have announced that chemistry is what has killed hundreds of physical-science students. Regarding mathematics, many are the students of mathematics who chose to get medical certification in order to gain access to the make-up exams since they had not done anything in mathematics and physics. I study in the second year of the baccalaureate SVT branch. The exam was very tough compared to the national exam of the previous year. Hello- I am a Moroccan. I am a bac student. I took the bac exam in science this year, but it was not like we predicted it would be. I was shocked. First of all, the mathematics section was long and hard. The rest of it, which I really studied for, was like the history of geology!!! Thank God that the physics section was more at our level, even if it was not as easy as the 2008 exam. Almost all of the students have confirmed that this year’s bac exam was difficult. So, it becomes easier to accept when it the majority says the same thing.

The baccalaureate has no value especially in Morocco. Students are coerced to take extra courses otherwise they won’t get a good score in the exam. This makes students hire two or three tutors in one subject. Oh Lord this enormous. As to cheating phenomenon, it is even worse.

The baccalaureate exams this year were very tough. They were fabricated. They want a low passing rate and therefore a low employment rate. If you have money and of a rich family, you will pass and vice versa. As to marking exams, the marking teachers treats you as if you were his enemy. The baccalaureate exam of the year 2009 was one of the most difficult exams. However, praise be to God, I have passed successfully thanks to the perseverance and my conviction that if you work hard you will pass. I advise all students not to lose hope especially those who failed. The most important thing is self-confidence, prepare to the baccalaureate from the beginning of the year and they will pass like me. My score is 15.87. I wish success to everyone God willing and taste success.
