Mauritanian police disperse women's rally

Mauritanian police forcibly dispersed a group of female protesters gathered in front of the UN office in Nouakchott on Sunday (April 19th), local and international press reported. The National Front for the Defence of Democracy (FNDD) and the Rally of the Democratic Forces (RFD) organised the demonstration to protest the June 6th presidential elections planned by the ruling military junta.
