Fewer Algerian students register for 2009 bac

2009-03-30

The number of candidates registered for the 2009 baccalaureate in Algeria fell from 599,702 last year to 444, 514, APS reported on Sunday (March 29th). Speaking in Algiers at a preparatory meeting for the June baccalaureate exams, Education Minister Boubekeur Benbouzid noted that since the 2009 candidates are the last to come from the old school system, the number of students taking the bac should go up next year.

To me, the bac means my life. We cannot hide this: it must be noted that the Minister of Education Boubkeur Benbouzid has done everything possible for us. We thank him from the bottom of our heart.
