Mauritania sets new date for presidential elections

Mauritania will hold presidential elections on June 6th to mark the six-month anniversary of the August 6th coup that ousted President Sidi Mohamed Ould Cheikh Abdellahi, junta leader General Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz said on Friday (January 23rd). The poll was initially scheduled for May 30th.
