Bouteflika to declare presidential run in February, Algerian party chief says
2008-12-05
Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika will announce his candidacy for the 2009 presidential elections in late February or early March, Tout Sur l’Algerie quoted Movement of Society for Peace (MSP) chairman and state minister Abu Djerra Soltani as saying on Thursday (December 4th). Soltani encouraged candidates from all the political forces in the country to run in the elections to "to break the inertia". MSP joined the National Liberation Front (FLN) and the National Rally for Democracy (RND) last week in calling for Bouteflika to seek a third term.

Algeria is a country that is an enemy of the United States because it is a communist dictatorship that has good relations with Cuba, Venezuela, North Korea and so on. During his presidential inauguration, Barack Obama affirmed, “The United States will fight communist dictators who cling to power and silence their opponents.” One might think that this was to send a message to his counterpart, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, without naming him. The latter wants to present himself for a third term in office. And, this is in spite of being 72 years old, because he is sure to be re-elected given that there is only one party in Algeria. The Algerians only have a choice between the FLN and the FLN.

To Nicolas- What a funny name for a commenter on a website for the Maghreb! Hmmm, seems like a Moroccan is hiding behind it, no? Still heating things up, huh? What is more, you ought to review your history, because Algeria was never communist. The Makhzen brainwashed you with this. What is more, to put a close to this, we do not give a care about Obama. And, Algeria and the Algerians also do not give a care about him because they owe him nothing, unlike your Makhzen, who await his aid. And, the aid will be decreasing given the US’ economic situation, the misery of which your Obama will have the worst difficulties getting out of, believe me.

And “Nenuphar” is Algerian? My name is Nicolas, and I am neither Moroccan, nor Maghreb. Moreover, I have already written anti-Moroccan comments, but they were not published. On the other hand, you are Algerian and you are living on the edge of my country. You need to stop criticising my country, France!!! Otherwise, go home to Algeria!

In response to the so-called “Nicolas”- Poor you: your writing has betrayed you by the fact that you say Algeria is communist. We Algerians know that this is the language of our neighbour to the East. Why do you say this? It is for the simple reason that you have nothing more to say about us. So, you are not dealing with communists or a terrorist president and I digress. In the same way, you specify that during his inauguration speech, President Obama was somehow sending a message to President Bouteflika, who, according to you, is communist. So, I tell you that you know neither Bouteflika, nor Algeria. Why? It is because during the time of our one-party socialist system, Bouteflika, who as the Minister of Foreign Affairs at the time, was neither a socialist, nor a communist. And, this is not a secret to anyone. He was always abroad and frequented hotels that even your Minister of Foreign Affairs did not have the money to stay one single night at. Getting back to you, Nicolas, even if you are French, I would deplore you. Your writing is full of errors, as opposed to Nenuphar’s, which is excellent given he is an Algerian by origin. And, if I had any authority over you, I would toss you in Afghanistan so that you could redo your schooling. You shame France and the French. Furthermore, a true Frenchman would never say any of this on a website for the Maghreb. If you were a true Frenchman, then you would not even be concerned by the problems between these two countries. Moreover, if you were a true Frenchman, you would never forget that your country remained in Algeria for 132 years, so logically all Algerians have the right to remain in France for 132 years. You broke into our home, so, personally, I tell you that he has the right to stay without asking your opinion and you do not have to comment with such nonsense.

Poor Algerians! Poor Maghreb! Always the same blunders! Always the same logic of underdevelopment! The enemy is always your neighbour in the East or the West. It is always someone else who is the cause of all your misfortunes and failures. It is never yourself, never your own responsibility. You only see what separates you, neve what unites you. The Arab Maghreb Union will always remain a chimera. The future of the peoples of the region will always remain just a pious wish so long as this way of dealing with problems predominates for some people. That the Maghreb forever remains on the path of under-under-underdevelopment is what these “thinkers” wish. And, this is what the people need. Poor Maghreb! Long live the new foreign coloniser! This is all that we deserve! What is more, who would would have thought there would be such underdeveloped, retrograde people in the 21st Century!!!???
