Algeria's MSP party declares support for Bouteflika candidacy

Algerian political party MSP joined the two other parties in the Presidential Alliance in calling Sunday (November 30th) for President Abdelaziz Bouteflika to seek a third term in the 2009 elections, local and international press reported,. Despite the fact that the head of state has yet to declare his candidacy, the RND and FLN have already come out in favour of Bouteflika remaining in power. FLN chief and current alliance president Abdelaziz Belkhadem announced the move, saying that the president will "restore peace and security in the country, after terrorism tried to drag it into a bloody security crisis".
