South Africa vows support for ousted Mauritanian president

South African President Kgalema Motlanthe pledged his country's support to ousted Mauritanian President Sidi Ould Cheikh Abdellahi, PANA reported on Wednesday (November 26th). In a telephone conversation with Abdellahi Tuesday, Motlanthe reaffirmed his country's support for restoring constitutional order in Mauritania. The conversation with the South African president reflects the international community's interest in Mauritania, a source close to the anti-junta National Front for the Defence of Democracy (FNDD) was quoted as saying.
