Coelho calls Tunisia squad for Mozambique clash

Tunisian coach Humberto Coelho on Thursday (November 5th) called his final 23-player squad for the November 14th World Cup qualifier against Mozambique. Returning players include Greuther Furth's Sami Allagui and Al-Ittihad star Amine Chermiti. The Portuguese coach said he decided to bring Chermiti back after noting his stellar performance with the Saudi club. Omissions include midfielders Nabil Taider, Lassaad Nououi and goalkeeper Farrouk Ben Mustapha, whose spot will be taken by Sfaxien keeper Jassem Khalloufi.

The Tunisians leave for a training camp in Djerba on November 9th. Coehlo explained that the Djerba site will allow players to get accustomed to the hard, synthetic pitch surface they will encounter in Maputo.

With 11 points, the Carthage Eagles currently top Group B. Nigeria's Super Eagles, who are in second place with 9 points, also have a November 14th game. They will face Kenya in Nairobi.

Morocco coach picks final Cameroon roster

Morocco coach Hassan Moumen on Thursday (November 5th) named 24 players to his final list for the November 14th World Cup home qualifier against Cameroon, MAP reported.

Among the Atlas Lions' notable returns are AS Nancy's Abdeslam Ouaddou, Mustapha Allaoui of Guingamp and Nabil Dirar of FC Bruges. Marouane Chamakh and Amine Rbati will miss the match for card accumulation, while Genoa's Houcine Kharja, Mounir El Hamdaoui of Dutch AZ Alkmar and Michael Bassir of French club Nancy are out with injuries.

Newcomers from the local league include Abdelhakim Ait Boulmane from Moghreb Fes, Omar Najdi from Raja Casablanca, and Ahmad Damiani from Difaa El Jadida.

Morocco enters the match in last place of Group A, with 3 points.

Morocco to host student-only Renault 4L rally

The Raid 4L Trophy, a desert rally limited to student racers with Renault 4L automobiles, will begin in Morocco on February 18th, MAP reported on Thursday (November 5th). Some 1,000 student crews will distribute school supplies and educational games to children in the southern Moroccan desert.

The 24th International Marathon of the City of Tunis will be held on November 15th, organisers announced at a press conference on Thursday (November 5th). The event will include four races: a marathon, semi-marathon, a race for all and a race for children. 2008 winner Muia Philip Kanau of Kenya will be among the participants.
