Algeria footballers offered record cash bonuses for World Cup appearance

Members of Algeria's national football squad will each receive a record 100,000 euro bonus if Algeria qualifies for the 2010 World Cup finals in South Africa, local and international press quoted Algerian Football Federation (FAF) President Hamid Haddadj as saying on Sunday (January 11th). The players were each promised another 20,000 euros for qualifying to the 2010 African Cup of Nations in Angola. In the final round of the combined Africa/World Cup qualifiers, which start in March, Algeria is in group C with Egypt, Zambia and Rwanda.
