First Africa Race ends in Dakar

The inaugural edition of the Africa Race desert endurance rally, which started December 26th in Marseille and covered a 7,490-km route through Morocco, Mauritania and Senegal, ended Sunday (January 11th) at Lac Rose, near Dakar. French duo Jean-Louis Schlesser and co-pilot Arnaud Debron won the car race. In the motorbikes, Spaniard Juan Manuel Pellicer with BMW came in first. In the trucks, the Belgian-Polish team of Jan De Rooy, Dany Colebunders and Darek Rodewald with Iveco claimed the title.
