Algerian pilgrims face medical checks upon return from hajj

To minimise H1N1 contagion, Algeria will require hajj pilgrims to undergo medical examination upon their return from Saudi Arabia, Religious Affairs Minister Bouabdallah Ghlamallah said Wednesday (November 4th) in Algiers. All 36,000 Algerian pilgrims to the Holy Places and Mecca have been vaccinated against the seasonal flu, National Office of Hajj and Omra (ONHO) Director Cheikh Berbera noted. In addition, 145 medical specialists accompanying the pilgrims to Saudi Arabia are "ready to intervene if any swine flu case is suspected", he said.
