Tunisia reports 9% drop in energy consumption

Tunisia reduced its year-on-year energy consumption by 9% in 2008 and saved some 800,000 tonnes of petrol, Ansa reported on Saturday (January 10th). The government targets a million-tonne reduction by 2011. The energy ministry attributed the decrease to campaigns promoting alternative energy.
