Algeria discloses flood toll; Sahrawi Red Crescent seeks aid for flooded refugee camps

Massive Algerian floods have killed 22 people across eight provinces since September 28th, in addition to 43 victims from Ghardaia alone, Communication Minister Abderrachid Boukerzaza announced Tuesday (October 14th). APS also reported Tuesday that Water Resources Ministry officials expressed confidence the new dykes at Ghardaia's M'zab Valley will avert future flooding.
Meanwhile, the Sahrawi Red Crescent appealed Tuesday (October 14th) for donating countries and international NGOs to provide humanitarian aid to refugees in southwest Algeria. Refugee camps such as Smara, home to more than 40,000 people, were heavily damaged by the floods.

Gentlemen- Please verify your information before editing it. Indeed, contrary to what you say, there are no refugee camps at all in Smara. Smara is a free city that, since the beginning, has belonged to its motherland, Morocco. The refugee camps or, rather, the sequestering is in the southeast of Algeria... in Tindouf...
