Algerian Islamic parties call for ban on alcohol imports

Algeria's Islamic politicians renewed their call for the 2009 budget to include a law banning the import of alcoholic products in the country, El Khabar reported on Thursday (October 9th). They want to limit alcohol imports to medical and industrial use.

Banning the import of alcohol based on petrodollars and the cabaret dancers of Riadh el Fousk in Algiers during Ramadan is good for our religion and the spirit of 1954. A cabaret owner successfully received a bank loan for 39 billion from the Algerian Foreign Bank (BEA) in Algiers for a studio without a kitchen or a toilet by having two prostitutes/dancers/pimps meet the four BEA directors. –From Algiers
