Morocco upholds jail terms for students involved in university riot

A Moroccan court upheld the one-year prison sentences for seven students involved in clashes with Marrakech police last May on the Cadi Ayyad university campus, MAP reported on Tuesday (August 12th). The students, who were demanding better lodging and the readmission of classmates who had been expelled, reportedly used stones and weapons and set fire to administrative buildings and several facilities.
