Mauritanian president reappoints Prime Minister

Mauritanian President Sidi Mohamed Ould Cheikh Abdallahi accepted the resignation of Prime Minister Yahya Ahmed El Waghef on Thursday (July 3rd) then immediately reappointed him, local and international press reported. El Waghef resigned hours before the National Assembly was set to debate a no-confidence measure mounted earlier this week by members of the ruling National Pact for Development and Democracy (PNDD-ADIL) party. At a press conference later on Thursday, El Waghef said his consultations for the formation of the new government would include all political forces.
