Tunisia's Mellouli wins 5th Med Games gold medal

Tunisian Olympic champion swimmer Oussama Mellouli won his 5th Mediterranean Games gold medal for the 1500m freestyle on Wednesday (July 1st) in Pescara. His result broke the Mediterranean Games' record. Tunisian boxers Hamza Hassini (64 kg), Yahia Elmekachari (81 kg) and Mohamed Homrani (+91 kg) also won bronze medals on Wednesday.
Moroccan runner Hanane Ouhaddou grabbed the gold Wednesday in the women's 5000m event. Fellow Moroccan Maria Laghrissi finished sixth. Boxers Hicham Mesbahi (54kg) and Mohamed Arjaoui (91kg) took bronze medals.
Abdelhalim Ouradi became the first Algerian boxer to qualify for the final in the 54 kg category after defeating Morocco's Hicham Mesbah.
