Morocco to field younger squad for Mauritania qualifier

2008-10-08

Morocco's national coach Roger Lemerre will hold a press conference on Thursday (October 9th) to reveal more details of his strategy for the African/World Cup qualifier against Mauritania Saturday (October 11th) in Rabat, the Atlas Lions reported. A single goal win for Morocco will be enough for them to top their group and to advance to the final stage of the play-offs. Mauritania currently has no points from three matches. Lemerre is looking at some younger talent for the game, noting that the "experimental squad" includes Liverpool striker Nabil El Zhar and Danish-born Karim Zaza, who played in the UEFA Champions League for Aalborg last week.
