Algerian football league suspends ES Setif coach
2008-09-16
Algeria's National Football League (LNF) suspended ES Setif coach Bernard Simondi on Monday (September 15th), pending a hearing. Echorouk reported that the French coach failed to answer two previous calls to appear before the LNF Disciplinary Committee.
In other football news, only Antar Yahia will be barred from joining the Algerian national squad's CAN/World Cup combined qualifying match against Liberia next month, Echorouk reported. Earlier reports suggested that accumulation of yellow cards would also cause CAF to suspend Karim Ziani and Madjid Bougerra from the crucial October 12th qualifier in Monrovia.
