Maghreb countries climb in latest FIFA rankings

Morocco and Tunisia both climbed three places to 40th and 47th position respectively in the latest FIFA rankings published Wednesday (July 2nd). New European champion Spain topped the rankings. Of the African teams, Cameroon is first (13th overall), while Morocco is 6th and Tunisia is 9th. Following its latest performances in the African/World Cup qualifiers Algeria moved up 10 places up to 93rd overall and 25th in Africa. Mauritania is 144th.
