Algerian volleyball opens Olympic qualifier in Tokyo with stunning victory

Algeria gave an astonishing performance on Saturday (May 31st), recovering from losses in the team's first two sets against Iran to win 3-2 on the opening day of the FIVB Men's World Olympic Qualification Tournament in Tokyo. Algeria's principal scorer was Ali Kerboua. Also on Saturday, Italy, Australia and Argentina defeated Japan, Thailand, and Korea, respectively, narrowing the competition for the last two berths available to this summer's Olympics.
