2008-04-09
Algeria will be represented by seven swimmers at the 9th FINA World Championships (25m), which kicks off on Wednesday (April 9th). Some 650 athletes from 120 different countries will be in Manchester for the five-day event. Salim Iles, Nabil Kebab, Daïd Sofiane and Mehdi Hamama will hone their skills for the Olympic Games in Beijing over the summer. For Riad Djendouci, Slimane Aghiles and Djendouci Badis, the championships will be part of their preparation for Olympic trials in late April and in June. The Manchester meet itself is not an Olympic qualifying event.
