Fourth Algeria swimmer qualifies for 2008 Beijing Olympics

Algerian swimmer Mehdi Hamama, of French club Cercle de Marseille, qualified for the 2008 Beijing Olympics at an international meet held on Saturday (March 29th) at Chalon-sur-Saone, El Watan reported. He clocked 2:05.44 in the 4 x 200m Individual Medley, beating the required minimum of 2:05.65. Hamama's time improved upon Algerian Raouf Benabid's 2:05.77. Algerian swimmers Salim Ilès, Daïd Sofiane and Nabil Kebab have already qualified for the Olympic Games.
