Algeria, Morocco lose African Champions League matches

Ashanti Gold of Ghana defeated FAR Rabat, 2-0, in Obuasi on Sunday (March 4th) in an African Champions league qualifier. Also Sunday, Algeria's JS Kabylie lost, 3-1, to Gabon's Managasport in Franceville. Both Maghreb teams will play their second legs at home in two weeks.
In related news, the match between Tunisia's ESS and Guinea's Fello Star in Conakry was postponed to March 11th, due to civil unrest in the country. The game between Al Ittihad of Libya and AS FNIS of Niger in Tripoli had to be postponed until Monday, as the referee did not arrive in time. (FAF, MAP, Reuters)
