Mauritania-Europe Friendship Semi-marathon to be held on Saturday

2007-01-26

The 3rd Mauritania-Europe Friendship Semi-marathon will be held on Saturday (January 27th) in Nouakchott. The race is expected to draw about 800 runners. The races, in 21km, 10km and 5km, will also feature 48 handicapped runners. The event is co-organised by the delegation of the European Commission in Mauritania, Mauritanian Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and with the technical collaboration of the Mauritanian Federation of Athletics. It was initiated in 2005 to replace the Mauritania-German Friendship Marathon. (PANA, Mauritanie-web)
