Algerian Issam Nima finished third in the men's long jump at the Intersport Gugl meeting in Linz, Austria, on Wednesday (23 August). He jumped 8.15m, only 2 cm under his Algerian record. Botswana's Garenamotse Gable took the gold with an 8.18 m jump.
Nima, who recently took the bronze medal at the African Championship in Mauritius, hopes to break the Algerian record by the end of the season. His remaining competitions include Brussels on 25 August, Berlin on 3 September and the World Athletics Finals to be held in Stuttgart on 9 September. (Le Soir d'Algérie)
