Moroccan Boussoufa to join national team

2006-05-14

Moroccan Mbark Boussoufa will join the national team for friendlies against the United States on 23 May, Mali on 28 May and Colombia on 4 June. Coach M'Hammed Fakher said he was delighted the Dutch-born 21-year-old had made the choice to play for Morocco despite heavy pressure to commit his international future to the Netherlands. The matches are part of the team's preparations for the 2008 African Cup of Nations qualifying campaign, which starts against Malawi in September (MAP, Reuters)
