Tunisian Women Hopeful in U18 African Championships

Tunisia's U18 women's national basketball team coach Faycal Hammami believes the women's African championships (17 December – 26 December) is excellent preparation for the 2005 World Championships, according to FIBA.com. The event will see Angola, Nigeria, Mali, South Africa, Mozambique and Tunisia fight for a place in next year's World Championships.

"The African championships are definitely great preparation ahead of the World Championships," Hammami said. "It allows us to evaluate the technical, tactical and emotional strengths of the team six months before the start of the world competition." Tunisia beat South Africa 64-44 in its first match.
