First Africa-Wide Gymnastics Competition
2004-12-10
Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia and Egypt are among the 13 African countries taking part in the first Africa-wide gymnastics competition. Held in Senegal, 176 gymnasts from around the continent will hope to improve Africa's standing in the international gymnastics community. Although the sport requires expensive equipment and specialized training, event organizers hope such competitions will boost African gymnastic representation in the Olympics. (albawaba.com)
