![]() [AFP] |
On Wednesday (17 November) the 27th Dakar Rally route was announced in Paris. Automobiles, lorries and motorcycles will participate in the 17-day race, which begins in Barcelona, Spain, on 31 December and ends at Lac Rose near Dakar, Senegal, on 16 January.
The shorter route will help locate stranded racers
Crossing Spain, Morocco, Mauritania, Mali, and Senegal, the 8,956km rally is shorter than last year's 11,090.5km route, but is more challenging. The shorter route will help locate stranded racers who may be injured in accidents. (albawaba.com)
