Tunisian President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali recently met with Minister of Technology and Communication Montasser Ouaili to discuss implementing asymmetric digital subscriber line (ADSL) high-speed Internet access across the country. Ben Ali said he will take a personal interest to ensure that connection speeds are both reliable and affordable.
Currently, ADSL is rare in Tunisia and many Tunisians complain of difficulties accessing the Internet because of dial-up connections. According to the International Technology Research Institute, Tunisia has the highest per capita Internet usage in North Africa. (albawaba.com)
