New Dams to Curtail Water Supply Crisis in Algeria
2004-11-03
The Algerian National Dam Agency recently announced the completed construction of three new dams, bringing the total number of dams in the country to 56. The new ones are expected to alleviate the drinking water crisis in western Algeria and provide irrigation water. Although recent rainfall has added to the new dams' capacity, western Algeria is supplied with only 46 per cent of the water of eastern Algeria. (El Khabar)

We thank the state for these great projects, especially huge dams such as Ben Haroune. Finally, we present our thanks to the president Bouteflika and Mr. Selal and all the members of the government such as Ammar Ghoul. With wishes of success from God Almighty 25834
