Algerian National Council Ratifies EU Agreement

An association agreement between the EU and Algeria signed in April 2002 was ratified by the National Council on Thursday (31 March) after the People's National Assembly endorsed it on 14 March.
The agreement, which calls for Algeria to cut tariffs on EU agricultural and industrial products over the next 10 years and the EU to eliminate duties and quotas on many Algerian agricultural products, was reached after years of negotiations. (albawaba.com)
