Morocco Adopts UN Convention Criminalizing Corruption

On Thursday (31 March), the Moroccan government formally adopted the UN Convention Against Corruption it signed in 2003. The move expresses the government's determination to tighten anti-corruption measures and promote transparent public funds management.
The convention contains provisions to define and legislate against corruption and includes sanctions against parties involved in corruption. It also includes measures aimed at reinforcing the participation of the public through awareness education. (MAP)
