At the opening session of the Fourth Conference of Islamic Culture Ministers currently underway in Algiers, Algerian President Abdul Aziz Bouteflika said Islamic civilization has always been tolerant and once established peace and stability in the world. The leader said while Islam is now tarnished by accusations of fostering terrorism and violence, it is up to Muslims to change the negative image and prove tolerance is practiced by the religion.
