2004-12-12
Around 2,000 Moroccan associations will participate in the implementation of the nation's “Social Proximity Programme,” for which 321m MAD (over $32m) has been earmarked. Social Development, Family and Solidarity minister Abderraham Harouchi explains that the program seeks to improve the welfare of citizens by facilitating access to infrastructure and contributing to the socio-economic development of the impoverished population through the consolidation of human capital. The main goal is to combat poverty. (La Nouvelle Tribune)
