Moroccan Family Planning Association Awarded by Population Institute

On Sunday (5 December), the Moroccan Family Planning Association received the Population Institute's national prize for 2004 in recognition of its "successful leadership of the country’s population programme" in the last 35 years. Meanwhile, the Global Leaders Award went to Nouzha Skalli, a long-time women's rights advocate and a member of the Moroccan parliament. The awards were handed out during the 25th annual Global Media Awards for Excellence in Population Reporting, which was organized in Rabat. Moroccan Communication Minister Nabil Benabdellah and Health Minister Mohamed Cheikh Biadillah attended the ceremony. (MAP)
