Tremor Shakes Algiers

Algerian authorities are planning to deal with another major disaster
A tremor shook Algiers on Sunday (5 December) slightly injuring 46 people just days after another earthquake hit the same area. The State Seismological Institute said the tremor measured 4.7 on the Richter scale, and hit at about 9am just off the coastal town of Zemmouri.
"It's a tremor linked to the earthquake of 2003, which is still capable of generating strong aftershocks and may continue to do so for some time," a spokesperson from Algeria's Seismic Authority said. Algerian authorities are planning to deal with another major disaster should it occur. School children are learning how to survive an earthquake should it strike when they are at home, at school or in the street. (Liberte)
