Anti-Violence Campaign Launched in Morocco

Recently, an awareness campaign against marital violence was launched in Morocco by the State Council for the Family. The campaign's main operation method is night slots on prime-time Moroccan television that depict violence against women and the negative impact it has on children.

Officials believe such images will deter society from accepting this kind of abuse. A second part of the campaign will reinforce legal mechanisms to bring abusive husbands to justice and to update the penal code.
