Civil Society Groups to Discuss Political Reform, Human Rights in Rabat

Several Arab and international human rights groups are organising between 8 and 9 December the civil-society component of the upcoming Forum for the Future meeting in Rabat. The Cairo Institute for Human Rights Studies, the Moroccan Organisation for Human Rights, the International Federation for Human Rights and the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Network will organise meetings that will bring together non-governmental organisation (NGO) representatives from Arab, Asian and European countries.

The civil society meeting participants in Rabat will present their recommendations to government officials who will meet on 10 and 11 December. Conference participants will discuss political reforms and human rights initiatives appropriate for Arab countries. The conference is sponsored by the World Bank and the European Commission.
