Algeria Chairs UN Security Council

For one month beginning Wednesday (1 December), Algeria is chairing the United Nations Security Council. Under the chairmanship of Algeria, the Security Council is expected to examine files on conflicts in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Liberia, Burundi, Sierra Leone, Guinea Bissau and Sudan. It will also deal with conflicts between Ethiopia and Eritrea and the situation prevailing in Iraq and the Middle East. (APS)
