African Parliamentary Union Meets in Algeria

Representatives from 40 African states gathered in Algiers on Saturday (27 November) for a meeting of the executive committee of the African Parliamentary Union (APU). The meeting focused on empowering African women and on inequities in global trade.
The weekend meeting preceded the 27th APU congress, which begins Monday. Participants will debate the role of African parliaments in developing good governance by making systems more accountable and transparent. (Algeria Interface)
