Moroccan government officials recently organised a public information day to launch a national campaign against violence towards women. Prime Minister Driss Jettou, along with several other ministers, attended the event, which is seen as a follow-up to a similar campaign started in 1998.

Jettou said protecting women from violence should be a national priority for every country, especially ones with democratic principles. According to Jettou, a re-examination of human rights and measures to achieve equality between men and women needs to take place in Morocco. (albawaba.com)
