Moroccan Commitment to Learn Local Governance
2004-11-16
To create stronger participatory democracy in Moroccan communities, a committee was recently formed between Morocco and a local council in Lyon, France. According to press sources in both places, the move is a sign of friendship between the countries.
The committee is overseeing a project that teaches a range of democratic issues in Moroccan communities and includes a series of micro-projects to educate girls and boost tourism. The project will focus on the Atlas Mountains region. (albawaba.com)
