Storms Claim Lives in Algeria

Strong storms battering northern Algeria since Saturday (13 November) claimed seven lives and destroyed several ships. According to press reports, at least three ships are stranded in the Port of Algiers; 18 sailors are reported missing and three homes destroyed. In response to the storms, Algeria mobilised its emergency services including military helicopters. Weather reports say 14cm of rain fell in 48 hours. (albawaba.com)
