Moroccan King Pardons Nearly 1,200 Prisoners on Eid El Fitr

On Saturday (13 November) the Moroccan Ministry of Justice announced that King Mohammed VI had pardoned 1,183 prisoners to mark Eid El Fitr. All those set for release were convicted of minor crimes. It is traditional for North African countries to pardon prisoners to mark special religious occasions. (albawaba.com)
