Moroccans From Guantanamo Face Trial in Rabat
2004-11-08
Moroccan judicial sources announced on Friday (5 November) that five Moroccans previously held at the US Naval station at Guantanamo Bay are in a criminal court after a judge in Rabat rejected their appeals. The defendants, arrested in Afghanistan by American troops, were handed over to Moroccan authorities on 1 August. The defendants face accusations of membership in a terrorist organisation, breaching national security and using forged documents. They are being held at Salé prison near Rabat. (AngolaPress)
