Moroccan Authorities Fight Illegal Immigration

2004-11-03

[AFP]

A campaign launched in September to stop illegal immigration to Spain through Morocco from neighboring countries is showing results. Since the start of the campaign, Moroccan authorities have detained hundreds of illegal immigrants in different cities. For example, from 27 October - 29 October, authorities arrested 134 people from sub-Saharan Africa and 19 from Algeria. Scores more arrested during the same period were Moroccan. (Al Ayam)
