Malian President Expresses Gratitude for Libyan Assistance

President Amadou Toumani Toure of Mali, the current chairman of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States, phoned Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi on Friday (29 October) to express his gratitude for Libya's assistance in fighting the locusts plaguing Mali. Toure praised the work of a Libyan team of experts who helped to save the country's crops. Several issues pertaining to the progress of the Sahel-Saharan community and other international issues of common interest were also discussed. (JANA)
