Socialist Leader Sentenced in Algeria
2004-10-29
Former Algerian Secretary-General of the Socialist Forces Front (SFF), Ahmed Djedai, was ordered to pay $685 for slandering the defence ministry. At issue were statements he made about the Kabylia crisis and the condition of the country at a SFF conference in 2001. The defence ministry accused Djedai of slandering the military when he said it accepts bribes and lives above the law. (El Khabar)
